MOVEMENT

yARTE
No hype.
No profit.
What is this?
I’m Francisco.
I have an engineer’s mind and an artist’s heart. I live in Málaga, close to the sea, with plenty of places around to enjoy.
I really enjoy my job in IT, and I love playing hard afterwards too.
I love movement, the arts, body contact, sunrises, nature and Mediterranean life.
I like surrounding myself with people who want to create spaces and occasions where we don’t need very much to have a good time.
A beach. A patio. A room with enough space to move. Some food. Music. The sea. A sunrise. Whatever is already there.
We fully support organised activities, classes, retreats and professional spaces. At the same time, it’s important to us to have our own afternoons, retreats and self-organised experiments: simple things we build together with what we have.
There are no teachers or leaders. Things are shaped together and kept free when possible. When something costs money, we simply share the cost.
A bit like those afternoons in the village when we were kids.
We normally meet new people through the facilitated activities already happening in Málaga.
If we feel there is a good connection, you can come and try with us.
Our gatherings are private, and everyone participates as an adult and as an equal, choosing their own level of participation.

The retreat
We are exploring interest in a self-managed, non-profit two-day retreat for 8–10 people.
It will take place in a comfortable villa surrounded by nature, within one hour of Málaga.
We are aiming for a price of around €70 for the whole weekend.
A space for contact improvisation, silence, food, the arts, nature, movement, breathing and other sensory experiences.
There will also be some shared periods of silence.
Without the need to analyse, explain or put everything into words.
Returning, for a while, to what is simple.
RETIRO
MERCEDES HALCON
Two days near Ronda with Mercedes Halcon, my campervan.
We keep one bed for a passionate local.
Food, dance, nature and sleep in the countryside.
A small experiment in spending time together simply: cooking, eating, resting and exploring what happens when we take dance outside the studio and into the landscape.
We’ll use the house and the surroundings as they are — paths, trees, open ground, shade, silence — and experiment with dancing in nature.
No programme to complete. Just time, space and a few things we want to explore together.
This is a non-commercial, self-organised two-day gathering. No money exchange.
COUNTRY
SIDE
DANCE
We’re six people who have been dancing together consistently for months now, twice a week.
We are looking for a suitable, nice place in the countryside where we can dance Contact Improvisation in nature, using the rural setting as part of the experience.
Date not confirmed.
GAGA
MOVEMENT
LANGUAGE
Gaga is a movement language based on sensation, imagination, curiosity and listening to the body. Rather than learning steps or trying to make shapes, we explore different qualities of movement through physical images and impulses.
The proposal is simple: we look at Gaga resources online, choose ideas that interest us, and build a 90-minute practice together — enough time to move, explore and sweat.
We have the studio.
We have the projector.
We have the energy.
We move.
BUTOH

Not a class. No teacher. A small, private, self-organised practice between 8 people, experimenting together and shaping the session as equals.

THE IDEA
We want to create something simple but well done:
- dramatic lighting;
- theatrical expression;
- dramatic clothing / make-up;
- slow, strange and expressive movement;
- a small group;
- 30 minutes of uninterrupted improvisation.
Clothing inspiration: use the video above as the main reference.
SESSION · 90 MIN
1. Arriving in the body — 5 min
Walk normally.
Notice feet, breathing, temperature, weight, head, arms.
Gradually slow down.
“Don't do anything interesting yet. Just let the body arrive.”
2. Warming / releasing — 5 min
Small movements through ankles, knees, pelvis, spine, shoulders, jaw, hands and face.
Use gravity.
Drop the arms, head and torso and slowly recover.
Move from:
“I move my body”
towards:
“I observe how my body moves.”
3. Butoh explorations — 15 min
A few simple prompts:
- walk extremely slowly;
- move through very dense air;
- imagine extremely heavy feet;
- one body part develops its own intention;
- extremely sad face;
- completely crazy / distorted face;
- let the face slowly transform the rest of the body;
- become extremely old;
- something is growing underneath your skin.
Don't act the image. Let the image change the body.
4. Everyone brings an exercise — 30 min
Each person brings one short exploration for the group.
It can be:
- an image;
- a transformation;
- a physical restriction;
- stillness;
- facial expression;
- unusual walking;
- microscopic movement;
- resistance;
- relationship with another body.
No need to teach or know Butoh properly.
Just bring something interesting to investigate together.
5. Butoh Impro — 30 min
Thirty minutes without instructions.
Move, stop, transform, observe, interact, disappear into the shadows, enter the light.
You can reuse previous exercises or abandon them completely.
There is no need to continuously move.
Stillness is part of the improvisation.
Place: Espacio Bohemia
When: 17 September · 8:15 pm
Space: 8 people
Duration: 90 min
Format: Amateur / self-organised
There is no payment or money exchange for the activity. We simply divide the cost of renting the space between us.
Cinema Nebulosa
We gather in a traditional, comfortable private patio in Huelin. Nothing fancy.
Bring your pillows and mats. We lie down and watch a wonderful film projected onto the wall.
There is jasmine in the patio and plenty of water to help us beat the heat. Snacks and drinks are on the house.
We also organise extra-lazy Saturday versions indoors, with sofas and mattresses.

Co-work
I work hard in IT Monday to Friday, somewhere in between all of this.
I share an office with two other people at La Princesa Coworking, and we normally have one desk available. We like to leave it open for someone who occasionally wants to share the office with us for a day or two.
Great view, loads of plants, and space to spend some time with us.
For different beautiful people who want to come for a day or two, work quietly, exchange experiences, share ideas, and connect.
There’s no charge — it’s simply a spare desk we like to share.
Something you want to talk about?
